A SPRING WEDDING AT KIN HOUSE : HANNAH & JAMES : THE COTSWOLDS
James & Hannah’s wedding day was set at the Cotswolds wedding venue Kin House. Kin House emerged in 2022 as an enchanting Grade II*-listed manor surrounded by walled gardens and private woodlands. The distinguished interiors provide an unparalleled level of uniqueness, fun, and colour alongside demonstrating a meticulous consideration for the intricacies of a wedding day. Purposeful features such as wedding prep rooms, a well-equipped dressing room with a changing area, and even a barbershop have been seamlessly integrated. Kin House had multiple spaces awaiting to be transformed by our wedding designs!
The couple got in touch with us to be their UK wedding planners with their main priorty being for their day to be full of fun and colour, they wanted the occasion to truly scream ‘James and Hannah’, their loves, their story, and all the food they love to cook and eat together. Collaborating alongside them was a truly fantastic journey, the trust and freedom they gave us with wedding planning and design allowed us to create a truly unique occasion.
For her wedding day, Hannah had a bespoke gown by Pronovias London with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline, she paired her wedding dress with a pair of stunning lace Manolo Blahnik stilettos. In the evening she brought the party with a fully embellished Clio Pepiatt mini dress and engraved Nike trainers that said ‘Kin House’ on the back. Her bridesmaids complimented the colour scheme with mismatched bright and patterned dresses.
The first enchanting space within the Kin House Estate is The Garden Room, a secluded oasis filled with lush greenery. We designed a wild floral triangular arch installation that framed the couple as they exchanged vows. A sophisticated homage to the iconic pyramid stage that holds many cherished memories for J&H from the Glastonbury Festival. Music is a huge part of their lives and something that initially brought them together. We assisted in carefully and thoughtfully weaving musical accompaniment throughout each poignant moment. Hannah walked down the aisle to a string quartet playing Sufjan Stevens - Mystery of Love and recessed with her new husband James to Eight Days a Week - The Beatles.
As well as designing a beautiful occasion, what we create is utterly centred around tantalizing the senses based on what can be heard, seen, smelt, touched, and tasted. At the conclusion of the ceremony guests were invited into the garden for cocktails and canapes. Each meaningful morsel was served alongside a canape coaster sharing a story about its significance to J&H. These stories reflected their adventures, special meals out, gatherings at their home, and cherished friendships. During their wedding breakfast nestled within their 4-course meal we served a cocktail-inspired palate cleanser; a Christmas tradition that takes place annually at the grooms family home. It was the perfect conclusion to a magical dinner brimming with emotion, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
We designed the reception space as an explosion of colour and sophisticated fun. Rows of tables adorned with spring florals bursting from delicately patterned linens awaited guests. They found their seats under a ceiling covered in dappling waves of draping, and each place setting featured sunshine yellow scalloped placemats layered beneath textured ivory plates, and topped with a bespoke book folding menus designed to seamlessly blend with the table linen.
After dinner guests were then guided into The Kilvert Bar by a lively 6-piece brass roaming band and introduced to ‘Bengefest’. Streamers of electric orange and fuchsia pink, smoke machines, twinkling disco balls, silver confetti DJ booth, and laser beams transformed the bar at Kin House into a bespoke made private dance tent at Glastonbury! A perfect scene for guests to dance the night away.
EVERYTHING YOU DID MADE OUR WEDDING FEEL TRULY LIKE US!
‘Emily, where to start! Right from the beginning, you were a dream to work with, you listened closely to what we wanted and parts of our lives we’d like reflected in the day, and helped create a cohesive vision for the wedding as a whole.
We mentioned we loved Glastonbury and you come up with the incredible idea of creating the Pyramid stage out of flowers (which we and all our guests were absolutely blown away by in person). We mentioned we had all these different recipes that we loved cooking together, and straight away you made sure the venue understood how crucial it was that we could design our own menu. You even came up with the idea of little coasters with the stories behind our canapé choices, which was such a nice touch.
Everything you did made our wedding feel truly like us. The flowers, the music, the design of the day - it was all so personal and so beautiful, and you brought it all together. We can’t thank you enough!’
